Home Maintenance Tips for March
March 29, 2021
We’re big fans of grouping annual home maintenance tasks by month, so they’re easy to tackle, and they don’t take a whole weekend. Spreading home maintenance tasks over the year also means you’re paying more attention to your home, and if something looks amiss, you might catch it before it becomes a major problem.
Here’s a list of what we recommend tackling in March to help get your home ready for spring and summer. April showers are on their way.
- Clear your gutters of debris to keep them flowing freely during spring showers. If leave and other debris are a consistent problem, consider installing gutter guards or screens to prevent future clogging. Practice ladder safety, and if needed, call a gutter pro.
- Clean dust and debris from your AC condenser to keep it running efficiently. Use your garden hose with a sprayer nozzle to rinse away dirt and leaf litter. Do not use a pressure washer as the water pressure may damage your AC condenser.
- Inspect and seal cracks in walkways and driveways that may have appeared over the winter during the freeze-thaw cycle. You can apply caulk to some cracks, and you may need to realign a few paver stones. If you find large cracks and areas that are sinking, call us for a referral to get that repaired.
See, a short list of easy tasks to keep help your home well maintained.
