Featured Project: New Custom Green Home

Our crew has been working hard building a sweet custom home in Weaver Ridge. The home was designed to leverage energy efficiency, functionality, and aging in place while framing gorgeous sunsets through massive windows along the living room walls.

Light, Light and More Light

Situated to face southwest to capture solar gain and plenty of light, this green-built home features primary and secondary bedroom suites, an art room, and his and hers offices, all which could be used as future bedrooms. The kitchen, living room and dining area form a central open area, yet a partial wall in the kitchen and a modern, two-sided fireplace anchor each room to create designated spaces that feel intimate and separate. An informal bistro between the secondary suite and the dining area will house a TV and wet bar, making it a perfect gathering space for a movie or game night.

A custom designed and built front door opens to a classic foyer with a coat closet. A welcoming space with a curved wall that leads to the common areas, the foyer also maintains a sense of privacy, for no other room is visible from the space. The art room, offices and primary bedroom suit are located along the hall that intersects the foyer.

Radiant In-Floor Heating

Designed to be energy efficient, the home includes a hydronic radiant in-floor heating system that will keep each room warm and cozy. Featuring hardwoods throughout and tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, warm floors will make the cold, rainy, occasionally snowy winters much more comfortable. Outside, a screened porch on the south side of the home provides a protected outdoor space for entertaining and relaxing. A patio made from pavers and an herb garden will accent the west side of the home.
