Video Transcript: A home to me is like the center the heart of the family. It’s where your dreams are made. It’s your sanctuary. It’s a place where you feel safe and you know where the family can grow and live and be healthy. My name is Brian Sineath. I’m a third generation home builder. I grew up in Pinehurst, North Carolina working for my dad who was a general contractor. I went to school at Appalachian State University and my degree is in construction management. The history of Sineath is when I got out of college, I went to work for a big construction builder. They relocated my family throughout the southeast for almost 10 years. My dad came up with the idea of Sineath construction. It was an opportunity for us to work together and so for me having just come out of corporate America, my goal was to create an environment where we had good people that could work together and support their families and do good things. The process for a new home is pretty straightforward. We usually meet with the client, try to find out what their goals are, what they’re trying to accomplish. Once we establish that, then we have a baseline for the estimate and then we do a very thorough estimate and that usually takes two to three weeks. Once we have all that information then we sit down and review that with the clients. It’s a very open book, very transparent. Having an open and direct relationship with a client is key and to me the only way to do that is to communicate and to be direct and they’re able to see and make decisions about the things that go in their house [Music]. Last year, renovations were a third of our business and a lot of those projects can range from a bathroom renovation to a kitchen to a whole house. We’ve torn down a house before and basically rebuilt the whole thing right on the same foundation. So what I love about renovation work is I like to brainstorm and oftentimes people will call and say ‘hey we need to add a bedroom because we’re expecting’ or we need to figure out how to get an elevator in the house. Those things are fun and challenging and I love working with people and working with the architect or the designer to help figure those out. I like to see the transformation that it does to the home [Music]. We do a gamut of commercial projects. Doctors offices, optometry offices. We’re doing a veterinary office. A lot of those businesses can’t afford to shut down or lose their revenue while some of these things are going on. There’s a ton of different ways to to approach it — each business is different and specific. Our business would be nothing without our employees. Our employees are who we are. Our team is what makes Sineath unique and we want those guys to be excited about coming to work. I want our environment here at Sineath to feel like a family. So I work hard to treat everybody that way. I think we’re different in the fact that because we’re not given a set price to do a job, we’re not saying here’s the specifications and and doing 90 million change orders. By being transparent, involving them in the process, they’re able to see and make decisions so that there’s no misunderstanding in that regard. If a person finds a really spectacular piece of land or property, to find that perfect design that’s going to fit and make it flow is really cool. So I enjoy working with people, meeting new people and a lot of the clients that we do business with we become friends with beyond their home.
