Annual 2021 Parade of Homes Starts this Weekend
Sure, we’re excited October is here, but not because it’s leaf-peeping season. That’s not to say we don’t love the changing leaves that blanket these mountains in brilliant shades of red, gold, and orange. We’re excited because it’s time for the annual Asheville Parade of Homes.
For us, the Parade of Homes is one of the best opportunities to showcase our work – to show a wide audience what we mean when we say our work reflects the uniqueness of every project and our absolute commitment to quality construction and craftsmanship. It’s an annual tradition we look forward to, and we push ourselves to build some of our best work.
We have two custom homes for you to tour in the parade this year. Using your phone, tablet, or computer, you can tour these homes virtually from wherever you are. As with previous years, you can vote for your favorite parade entry starting Monday, Oct. 11.
Vintage Twist on Modern
Our goal with this custom-built home was to seamlessly blend the owner’s collection of antique and reclaimed finishes with modern style to create the enduring space she envisioned for her art and collectibles.
It’s a one-of-a-kind mountain home with views from every room that artfully blends modern functionality with antique details, including reclaimed antique doors and hardware from a historic home in Philadelphia, 100-year-old tile recovered from bistros and cafes in France and Belgium, and headers over the pantry and bedroom doors. The home’s modern architecture compliments the natural topography so that from the entryway to the back deck, you are immediately connected to the home, the light, and the view of the creek and mountains. True to the owner’s vision, the home is a place to gather and entertain and a place to unwind and relax. Tour the home.
Mountain Modern in North Asheville
From the moment we saw the plans for this custom home, we knew it would be special. It ticks all the boxes for modern living with dedicated workspaces, a chef’s dream kitchen, and main level living that perfectly fits the owner’s vision for entertaining. No detail was overlooked.
Exposed steel beams merge structural function with a modern design aesthetic, while the 16-foot, multi-panel stacking glass door joins inside spaces with outside spaces, making two spaces seem like one. The kitchen is punctuated by a large island with a custom-built walnut bar. This kitchen is next level for the home chef. Every opportunity was taken to maximize an aging-in-place concept for the owners. From threshold-free entrances and curbless showers to an elevator and wide doorways and halls, the home is designed for entertaining and every life stage. Tour the home.
Our parade entries this year are sponsored in part by Kelly Davis with Park National Bank. Kelly and her team at Park National Bank helped both clients obtain new construction loans to build their dream homes. If you have questions about new construction lending or need to obtain new construction lending, please reach out to Kelly.
We hope you enjoy this year’s Parade of Homes. It’s the culmination of our team’s hard work, our clients’ gracious willingness to participate in the tour, and two really cool homes.
