Asheville Builder Receives Prestigious Professional Designation

April 12, 2023 (ASHEVILLE, N.C.)

Brian Sineath, president and co-owner of Sineath Construction in Weaverville, N.C., has completed the rigorous course work necessary to meet the requirements to receive the Accredited Builder (AB) designation from the North Carolina Builder Institute, which is the educational arm of the North Carolina Home Builders Association.

“The housing industry here in Asheville is highly competitive as we see year-over-year increased demand for new homes. For our customers, the accredited builder designation is a reliable indicator of our core competencies and expertise,” said Sineath. “Accreditation means we are committed to staying up to date on industry standards, emerging technologies and building practices, and legislation that affect our industry and our work. From our perspective, the industry standard is more focused on ‘how you do’ instead of ‘what you do’ than ever before.”

A fourth-generation builder in the Asheville area, Sineath is a member of N.C. Home Builders Association and the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains (BABRM), where he served as board president in 2022. He was named Builder of the Year in 2020 by the Asheville Home Builders Association, which recently merged with the Henderson-Transylvania Home Builders Association to form BABRM.

To receive the Accredited Builder designation, Sineath completed a comprehensive series of 72 hours of course work, learning about the newest trends and technology in the building industry. As part of the process, Sineath collaborated with fellow builders to solve many everyday construction-related problems encountered in the industry.

The North Carolina Builder Institute, the educational arm of the North Carolina Home Builders Association, administers their continuing education program. An Accredited Builder designation is recognized statewide and identifies top professionals in the building industry.

The North Carolina Home Builders Association is a state trade association representing 53 local associations and more than 14,700 member firms involved in the residential construction industry. A not-for-profit organization, the NCHBA provides its members with networking and educational opportunities and represents them in matters of government relations and advocacy.
